WebFTP File Size Limit

I am just making a new thread instead of dragging out the other one in the wrong section lol

File size limitations:

Editing the php.ini does not work, due to the .htaccess files.  I do not know where the issue is, but, one of them is overwriting the php.ini changes.
I have setup my php.ini to a 512mb file size and it is still a 2mb max.  I dont know if this is something that needs added, or, edited, in the .htaccess, or what one needs editing.

Warhawk, is this something you are able to recreate or do you have this issue at all?

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

I have installed Teamviewer to my web server, so, i will have the guys here figure it out.  Always nice to have an entire Linux team under me lol.  They are all CentOS users, but, they have been using Linux forever and know all this stuff.  They knew exactly where to go and how to fix without looking it up.  Anyways,   I will report when they give me a solution.

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

php.ini is set to 900M and displays on a php.ini page
webFTP shows (on upload from computer, options) 2M max

As per my team here at work, it should be working.

I did add (just to test) the following to the .htaccess in ./ajxp/

#FILE SIZE TEST START
<IfModule mod_php5.c>
	php_value upload_max_filesize "32M"
	php_value post_max_size "32M"
	php_value max_execution_time 600
	php_value memory_limit "32M"
</IfModule>
<IfModule mod_php4.c>
	php_value upload_max_filesize "32M"
	php_value post_max_size "32M"
	php_value max_execution_time 600
	php_value memory_limit "32M"
</IfModule>
#FILE SIZE TEST END

No change.  I will keep adding and removing changes and seeing what i can get working.

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

Main:
edit php.ini :

; Maximum size of POST data that PHP will accept.
; http://php.net/post-max-size
post_max_size = 512M (or whatever size, 1G, 2G, whatever)

; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
; http://php.net/upload-max-filesize
upload_max_filesize = 512M (or whatever size, 1G, 2G, whatever)

and reboot apache.

1.  remove the ./yourpanelsite/ajxp/data/plugins/conf.serial/plugins_conf.ser file after having changed the php.ini values, this should update the value of the plugin option
2.  Try clearing your cache (plugins_*.ser in data/cache) and reload your browser.  Yes, delete all the "plugins_*.ser" files.

**[I do not know 100% if it was step 1 or 2 that did it.  I did them both.]**

To test:
1.  Open Admin/Client Panel
2.  Open the WebFTP window via the Utilities drop down
3.  Mouse over "Send" and select "From Computer"
4.  Top right, select "options"  (small and light gray text)
5.  Review "Upload Limits" size that's listed.

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

I have to balance this topic because (and obviously ^^) it depends on your php/web server setup smile
So those instructions are only if you use the same web server approach as Angrytoilet (what a surname !!) smile

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

lol thanks
The solution should be the same as long as someone is using Apache2 and PHP5.  I can not say this will work for other versions, but, it should be the same, or, close to it.  One thing to note on the solution:  a .htaccess will take priority over the php size limits, so, be aware of that (assuming there is a .htaccess in your folder with the FTP calls)

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

I meant that your how to is not compatible with the php-fpm approach for example, system which can be used even with apache smile
your approach must be clearly focused on "libapache2-mod-php5" smile

Moreover, keep in mind that another limitation of upload max size is the timedout constant in php ini files smile
If you want to upload large files, the connection must not be reset because of the max execution time smile

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

wiz - make sure you delete all your cache files in your panel cache.

/var/www/PANEL_FOLDER/ajxp/data/cache/
all files that match:  plugins_*.ser
delete those
Your php seems config properly, but, those cached files will get ya.  Only true place to see for sure when its set, is the WebFTP options.

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

well, i got it working big_smile
but in the end. i had ended up ditching the panel. as it was making the game servers laggy.
so, i went with my default server set up where i got my root from.

for everyone else having this issue. follow what angry said, it does work.

Re: WebFTP File Size Limit

i did. had enough of the wait for v2 -_-
not enough support, i get ppl have a life. but when you open up a project... see it through. not wait like 8 months to do anything.
and i dont have the time to do all the fixes myself, work, remodels of the house with the miss and everything else.

tired of the wait. so i said fuck it.

nobody wants to hold you.
you're free to leave but your words hurts very hard.

If you are not patient ==> dev your own panel spending your self and free time to do it.
bye bye
